November 2018 Golf Notes by Tom Burrington

Thank you all for another great season at MECC. We truly have something special up on Country Club Road.

We held our annual Ryder/Solheim Cup tournament in October, and as usual a great time was had by all. Special thank you to Kevin Goss for running the grill.

We also held one of our most successful calcuttas ever in October. This event has helped us purchase 9 new carts, a new Kubota tractor and a “new to us” utility cart in the last two years. Thank you to all of our ticket purchasers, sponsors an donors. This event is vital to our efforts to keep out in front of our aging equipment. Pam Fecteau and Paul Blouin did an amazing job preparing the meal. Judy Riboilini did an outstanding job (as usaul) organizing the entire event. Lynn Ribolini as MC was terrific, and Scott Cameron and Pam Boyd’s contributions were invaluable.

As we enter into planning and organizing the 2019 season we have several vacancies to fill. Lynn and Judy are moving on to the retirement phase of their lives. Congratualtions to you both and thank you for everything you have done for us all at MECC, and I am stepping down as chair. If you ever wanted to run a pro-shop or be involved in golf operations, please contact our ER Lisa Dilena, I am sure she would welcome your help. It’s been a great run, thank you all for your support. T

Women’s Golf Notes by Patty Baroudi

The final night of Ladies' League was a memorable one. Despite the downpour that ended play after just two holes, we said good-bye to the 2018 season with a great meal, presentation of awards, and lots of laughs. Thank you all for your positive attitudes, great good humor, and support for the league and women's golf.

Congratulations to Deb Lefebvre, the 2018 Vera Corry Champion! Well played, Deb!
